Pros:
Gorgeous 17in Quad HD display
Outstandingly lightweight design
Plenty of ports
Cons:
Processor now outdated
Slow read and write SSD speeds
Battery life is average
In recent years, we’ve seen 17-inch laptops disappear from PC World shelves. That’s no surprise since they’re so large and heavy, but it is a great shame now we’re in the Netflix age, where a massive screen is more beneficial than ever. Step in the LG Gram 17 (2019), which features a lovely 17-inch Quad HD panel, and yet only weighs 1.34kg.
Given how lightweight it is, the Gram 17 may seem like a miracle laptop, but LG has had to make sacrifices. The 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8565U processor isn’t one of the fastest around, and the battery doesn’t offer a huge amount of stamina compared to major competitors.
The upcoming LG Gram 17 (2020) model addresses these issues without sacrificing its portability powers, boasting an Intel 10th-gen processor and larger battery. However, you’ll have to wait until April at the very earliest to get the updated 2020 model in the UK.
