Lenovo introduced the 8th-generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the 5th-generation ThinkPad X1 Yoga. The new models use a new scissors keyboard design, more comprehensive security features, and support for Wi-Fi 6.
Compared to the previous generation, the 2020 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon continues the weight and thickness of the previous generation: it weighs 1.09 kg and is 14.9 mm thick. The 2020 ThinkPad X1 Yoga weighs 1.3 kg and 15.25 mm thick. In terms of configuration, the new machine is equipped with Intel's 10th generation Comet Lake six-core processor, onboard 16GB LPDDR3 memory and 2TB solid-state storage.
The first improvement: the new 2020 X1 Carbon and Yoga have replaced the newly designed scissors-type keyboard and added a key for users to facilitate instant voice communication.
Second improvement: Added support for Wi-Fi 6 wireless networks
The third improvement: users can choose a full HD screen with a maximum brightness of 500 nits and PrivacyGuard privacy screen + ThinkPad PrivacyAlert software technology. The main function of ThinkPad PrivacyAlert software technology is to warn the user when someone is staring at the user's screen. In addition to the maximum brightness of 500 nits, the 2020 X1 Carbon and Yoga also support Dolby Vision Ultra HD displays.
Both 2020 X1 models use 51 Wh batteries, of which Yoga has a battery life of 10-15 hours and Carbon has a battery life of 10-18 hours. X1 Carbon 2020 also participated in the Intel Project Athena "Ultrabook 2.0" certification project.
